What The Bible Says Every Person Must Know and Accept in Order to Have Eternal Life.
1. You Have Sinned.
For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not. -- Ecclesiastes 7:20
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: -- Romans 3:10
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; -- Romans 3:23
2. The Penalty For Sin Is Death And Hell.
Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. -- Ezekiel 18:4
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. -- Romans 6:23
And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. -- Luke 16:23
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. -- Revelation 21:8
3. Jesus Christ Died To Pay For Your Sins.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. -- Romans 5:8-9
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: -- 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
4. Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven.
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. -- John 3:36
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. -- John 14:6
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. -- Acts 4:12
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. -- 1 John 5:11-12
5. Jesus Invites You To Be Saved Today!
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. -- Matthew 11:28
And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. -- Acts 16:30-31
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. -- Romans 10:9
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. -- Romans 10:13
Dear Friend, in order to have eternal life you must do what Jesus said in Mark 1:15.
(Mark 1:14-15) Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, {15} And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
The apostle Paul preached the same message in the book of Acts.
(Acts 20:20-21) And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have showed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house, {21} Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
To repent simply means that you stop calling God a liar and admit that you are indeed a sinner and that you deserve to spend eternity separated from God in hell. To believe the gospel means that you believe that Jesus Christ is the only Savior and that he died and shed his blood to pay for your sins and rose from the dead after 3 days.
(1 Corinthians 15:1-4) Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; {2} By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. {3} For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; {4} And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
You must believe that Jesus Christ is your only hope of salvation just as he said in John 14:6.
(John 14:6) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Friend, if you believe that you are a good person, or that some good work you have done or affiliation you have will earn you eternal life, you have not repented. God says that all of us are sinners. God says that nothing that we do or are can save us. God said that the wages of sin is death. God sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to die and pay for our sins. God said that Jesus is the only Savior. You may be religious, you may do good works, you may have Christian parents and you may have been baptized. You may give to charity and be faithful to your church. You may call yourself a pastor, deacon, evangelist or "prophet." You may be the most wonderful person in the eyes of your friends and family but before God you are a sinner. You need a Savior. You may even have prayed a prayer and asked Jesus to save you but when you prayed you believed that once you called upon the Lord your salvation depended on you being faithful to the end. If this is the case you are not trusting in Christ. You are still trusting in your own works to save you. You still have not repented. You have not believed the gospel.
Are you are willing to trust Jesus Christ as your only Lord and Savior?
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I don't deserve to go heaven. I deserve to go to hell. I believe you died on the cross and shed your blood to pay for my sins. I believe that you rose from the dead. I know that you are my only hope for salvation. Please forgive my sin, come into my heart and save my soul. Thank you Lord for saving me.
