Dear friend you cannot get to heaven by good works, keeping the Law or the Ten Commandments because the Bible says:
(Romans 3:19-21) Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. {20} Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. {21} But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
(Romans 3:27-28) Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. {28} Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
(Galatians 2:16) Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
(Galatians 3:11) But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
(Galatians 3:24) Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
(Ephesians 2:8-9) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: {9} Not of works, lest any man should boast.
(Titus 3:4-7) But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, {5} Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; {6} Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; {7} That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
(James 2:10) For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
Dear friend if keeping the Law or Ten Commandments or doing good works could save us and earn us entrance into heaven Jesus would not have had to die for our sins. Besides this fact there is the fact that no one (except the Lord Jesus Christ) has ever kept the law or the Ten commandments. No one can. That is precisely why we need a Savior.
